About the Centre

Sarah Miller Eastbourne Postgraduate Medical and Dental Centre looks after the education and training of doctors and dentists both in the hospital and General Practice.

The Centre has a lecture theatre which will seat 100, various sized seminar rooms seating between 20 and 70, a restaurant, and an internet cafe. The restaurant can seat up to 48 people and is open from 12 - 2 pm to users of the Postgraduate Centre for sandwhiches, snacks, hot lunches and hot/cold beverages. The internet cafe has three terminals. Each seminar/lecture room in the Centre has a full range of audiovisual equipment, including data projection, visualiser and slides. In the lecture hall and seminar room we also have microscopes. There are video conferencing facilities and an interactive whiteboard in the lecture theatre. Two seminar rooms are used for hands-on courses.

The Centre provides day and evening courses on a range of subjects for General Dental Practioners and their staff. Hands-on courses are also part of the programme. In addition, Dental Undergraduates undertake their BDS Human Disease attachment at the hospital.

Directions

The District General Hospital is well signposted from the junction of the A22 and A27 at Polegate and has excellent parking facilities and has a heli-pad. Eastbourne has good rail links from Victoria and Gatwick Airport. Eastbourne Harbour has plenty of visitors' moorings and prior booking is not necessary. The hospital is a short taxi ride from Eastbourne Main Station. The Postgraduate Centre can be found on the top floor, immediately on entering the main entrance of the hospital. Please note there will be a charge for car parking.
