About the Centre

Gilda Horton The Canterbury Centre for Health and Clinical Services is a multidisciplinary education centre sited within the grounds of Kent and Canterbury Hospital. It provides up to date presentation facilities, and a well-equipped clinical skills room with 12 hands-on stations and flat screen projection. Computer Assisted Learning is available through an Internet Cafe and modern library. Video-conferencing can also be arranged.

A comprehensive series of day time courses are provided, many of which are hands on, and the Kent Postgraduate Practicioners Group (KPPG) provides evening lectures throughout the year. The Canterbury Vocational Training Scheme is also run from this Centre on a weekly term time basis.

Directions

By Road
From London:
Leave the M2 following signs for Canterbury and Dover (A2). Exit the A2 at Harbledown, leave by the slip road signposted Canterbury and join the A2050. Travel straight across at the first roundabout and at the second turn right onto Rheims Way A290. Continue ahead at the next roundabout and then turn right at the following roundabout onto Old Dover Road. Take the fifth turning right onto Ethelbert Road and the hospital is on your left.

From Dover & Folkestone:
Take the A2 and leave by the slip road signposted Canterbury (A2050). At roundabout take the second exit onto Old Dover Road. Take the fourth turning left onto Ethelbert Road and the hospital is on your left.

From Ashford:
Take the A28 Thannington Road/Wincheap to Canterbury City Centre and at the roundabout turn right onto Pin Hill. At the next roundabout turn right onto Old Dover Road. Take the fifth turning right onto Ethelbert Road and the hospital is on your left.

From Margate:
Take the A28 Sturry Road and follow signs for Canterbury City Centre and take the left fork just before the Northgate roundabout. At the next roundabout turn right onto A28 Military Road and continue straight ahead at the following roundabout. When you reach the next roundabout turn left onto Old Dover Road. Take the fifth turning right onto Ethelbert Road and the hospital is on your left. Car parking: Pay and Display car parking is available.

By Train
The nearest train station is Canterbury East which is on the Dover to Victoria line. When exiting the station go over the footbridge and follow the city wall around to the bus station. Canterbury West Station is on the Ramsgate to Ashford line and you will need to take either a bus to the bus station and and then the 25/25A service to the hospital or a taxi direct to the hospital.

By Bus
The number 25/25A bus goes to the Kent and Canterbury Hospital. Please call Stagecoach on 0870 608 2 608 for more timetable information.
