About the Centre

Gitta Thompson Our programme is designed to help busy practicioners keep up-to-date. We run a number of all-day courses many of which have a hands-on component. All hands-on courses take place in the Centre's state-of-the-art Clinical Skills Lab equipped with dental training simulators. We also run a number of dental study group and orthodontic study group meetings which take place regularly in the Postgraduate Centre which is situated within the Audrey Emerton Building. The Audrey Emerton Building

The Audrey Emerton Building is a new Education Centre with 2 lecture theatres, 16 seminar and teaching rooms and IT skills room and was opened in August 2005. The restaurant and coffee bar, which is situated on the top floor has amazing views, with food and refreshments available between 8am - 5pm. The Audrey Emerton Building is situated opposite the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Eastern Road, Brighton, which is just 100 yards from the seafront in the heart of the Kemp Town area.

Directions

By Train
Brighton is one hour from London via either London Bridge or Victoria Station. When you arrive you will find the taxi rank outside the front of the station.

By Air
From Heathrow take the Piccadilly line tube to Hammersmith then the District line to Victoria Station, transfer to British Rail and take the train to Brighton which leaves approximately every half hour.

From Gatwick, the station is directly under the main terminal building and trains run to Brighton frequently.

By Car
If you are travelling by car from London or the North, the main link to the M23/A23 is via the M25. It will take approximately 40 minutes from the M25 turnoff to reach the end of the (M) A23, which is the start of Brighton town.

If you are travelling from the East or West you will approach Brighton using the A.27, East from Eastbourne or West from Worthing. Turning off at the junction where the A23 ends which is signalled by a large roundabout.

Follow the signs to the seafront and this will take you through a number of traffic lights and one way system. When you approach the Royal Pavillion on your right, turn off to the left into Edward Street which leads into Eastern Road. The Audrey Emerton Building will appear on your right opposite the main hospital entrance approximately 2 miles along this road.

Parking is restricted to 2 and 4 hour spaces in nearby streets. There is also a multi-storey car park which is situated in Bristol Gate just past the hospital main entrance. If coming by car, please allow plenty of time for parking. Whenever possible, please use public transport.

Brighton has an excellent bus service and you can find out how to get to the hospital from where you are by accessing their website: www.buses.co.uk
